Last year the Connells Group sold in excess of £8 billion worth of property and arranged mortgage loans totalling around £3 billion. Connells use Avco’s bespoke application to convert their payroll files to HMRC approved GFF format and deliver them to HMRC.
The Problem
Connells has been setting the pace in estate agency for over 70 years. Since the first Connells branch opened its doors for business in Luton in 1936 the company has risen to become one of the largest and most successful estate agency groups in the country with a network of over 460 branches throughout the UK. Connells have a huge staff of negotiators and letting agents.For their payroll, Connells needed a solution to send files to HMRC in the necessary GFF format.
The Approach
Avco proposed a bespoke converter program to convert files from the in-house payroll system and output a GFF file format that met the strict e-filing requirements. Working with Avco, Connells programmed their system to create files to a defined format whilst Avco wrote the converter to adapt the file and output the GFF equivalent file. Connells then used Avco's standard Payroll EDI e-filing product to submit the files to HMRC.
