Avco Systems upgrades Payroll-EDI product for upcoming RTI from HMRC

Avco Systems announces the release of Avco Payroll-EDI v3 to be fully ready for the introduction of RTI (Real Time Information) by HMRC in 2013. Many companies who currently send data to HMRC over secure ISDN telephone lines are upgrading to EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) and many more are moving away from XML and other formats to GFF (General File Format), ahead of the introduction of RTI by HMRC in April 2013.

Avco makes the change very easy.

Most companies already have major payroll software, whether stand-alone or part of a wider enterprise HR or finance system. They already send information to HMRC, either directly or via a bureau service.

Many are probably already using EDI and equally probably are using ISDN lines. These are old, slow, digital telephone lines directly connecting the organisation into HMRC via a hardware terminal adapter. The trouble is that they are very slow and have limited bandwidths for today’s data transfers.

With the HMRC’s requirement for Real Time Information (RTI), from April 2013, companies must submit data to HMRC with every Payroll run. The old, narrow ISDN route must be replaced with something much wider. The recommended route is AS2, which uses the internet for data exchange in a special and very secure way. The good news is that clients don’t have to change anything on their current payroll system to use AS2. To send files direct to HMRC, they just need the Avco Payroll-EDI software which takes the data, passes it through a secure AS2 server and sends it securely and reliably with acknowledgement of receipt by the HMRC server.

As an alternative, clients can send data files securely in any format to the Avco Bureau Service, where they will be converted to the right format and sent to HMRC. Both are fast, safe and secure.

Avco Systems is listed by HMRC as a provider of EDI Communications and Translation services.

Avco Systems is pleased to announce the launch of a “Single View of a Child”, a further enhancement to their ‘Single View’ product suite.

Building upon the success of the ‘Single View of a Vehicle’ product for a leading credit reference agency, Avco Systems has recently been awarded a contract by a major Local Authority that will see the functionality of this system extended to provide a “Single View” of all the information held about a Child across a number of data sources.

The software enhancements will be delivered in January 2013 and will enable the Local Authority to present information, from multiple sources, in a ‘single view’ for the first time. This will provide ‘front line’ workers with the ability to search and retrieve secure, up-to-date, relevant and accurate information via a web browser on any device (including tablets and mobiles).

Avco Systems is continuing to develop a comprehensive ‘Single View ’product suite that enables a client to ‘harvest’, integrate and transfer information between a range of separate but related data sources in a secure and manageable way.

Security of data, often personal and highly confidential, is of major importance within this product suite and Avco’s experience with secure data transfer, including to and from Government departments, is a core component of this product.
