Experian B2B Prospector Case Study

Experian has been an Avco customer since 1996. Experian’s principal areas of operation are credit services, marketing solutions, decision analytics and interactive services. Their B2B Prospector service allows businesses to create custom tailored direct and electronic mailing lists for lead generation. With an engaging UI and superb data-mining capabilities, the site has empowered businesses to focus on implementing marketing strategies rather than searching for and purchasing marketing lists of dubious credibility or value.

The Problem

B2B Prospector gives Experian’s customers access to a website where they can select information about other businesses on a ‘self-service’ basis. Early in 2008, Experian identified a need to redevelop the system, at the same time adding the ability of Experian personnel to monitor user activity and, where necessary, to interact with clients and offer assistance on the use of the website.

The Approach

B2B Prospector was developed to replace Experian's former “Prospect Locator” application, to enable customers to purchase business data on a ‘self-service’ basis, via a website hosted within a secure PCI DSS compliant environment.

Avco’s solution introduced an efficient mechanism to create business lists, with purchase and download facilities, a customer support service with an online chat utility, and an automatic e-invoicing system for credit account purchases.

From consultation and specification, through development to maintenance and hosting, Avco provided Experian with an ideal solution in a very short time.
