In 2005, RR Donnelley acquired UK-based Astron, to form RR Donnelley Global Document Solutions, working with more than 60,000 customers worldwide. Global telephone and mobile service providers, such as BT, have corporate users who run up enormous itemised bills which do not lend themselves to distribution by printing.
The best possible alternative to printed bills was to distribute the data burned on to CDs. Although a manual method was available, it proved very labour intensive.
Avco, being a value added reseller of Rimage systems, was able to offer a solution that could burn and print individualised customer data on to CDs, further verifying them to ensure the correct information went to the right customer. This was done in a quick and reliable manner and integrated with existing practices.
